Location
The location of the park is ideal for privacy and quiet but close to everything you need. Houston, Victoria, and all the cities in between are within an hour’s drive from the park.
You cannot get more centrally located to everything you could ever need and want!
A ten-minute drive north will take you to Wharton Texas. This quiet little town is right on the Colorado River with a nice downtown area, shopping, and an actual theatre where plays are performed.
Ten minutes south will take you to Bay City. This town also has a nice downtown area with shopping, coffee shops, and restaurants. You will also find bowling, a birding nature center, beautiful parks, and a movie theatre.
From the park, you are 45 minutes away from some of the country’s best fishing in Sargent and a 40-minute drive from the beach in Matagorda. The beach in Matagorda is absolutely beautiful and you can drive your vehicle on the beach for miles and miles.
